On the last Friday of every month several London art galleries and museums host late-night openings. As if Friday couldn’t get any better, you can get to indulge in art, food, drinks, music, workshops and even debates. It’s the perfect way to mark the end of the month!
V&A FRIDAY LATE: THE EYES HAVE IT

#FLODown: The V&A presents ‘The Eyes Have It’ an evening that will explore the theme of eyes through art, films, immersive games and talks. The evening will be an exploration of how our eyes deceive us and will feature demonstrations of computer vision technologies from early robotics to self-driving cars. The evening will challenge you to consider the effects of seeing and watching and being watched! You can also expect to find music and dance from the African continent and its diaspora by Wahalaa Joyful black dance party and DJ duo Tele OG and Tshaka Ballantyne.

This evening offers the opportunity to meet some of the brilliant researchers that are breaking barriers and creating opportunities for the new generations of scientists. UNIQLO TATE LATES

#FLODown: UNIQLO Tate Lates presents Steve McQueen – ‘Artist and the City’. Expect an evening of art, music film and pop-up talks. Highlights for the evening also include Bubble Club, which is an inclusive and accessible nightclub. There will be a unique selection of live music, art and performances, plus a screening of 10 Women X 10 Decades. This is a film that focuses on the lives of 10 brave, female Londoners. There will also be UNIQLO 10 minute art talks, where staff and volunteers at the Tate will discuss their experiences of working at the Tate and provide some insight into some of the collections, all in 10 minutes!

KIMONO: KYOTO TO CATWALK @ THE V&A

#FLODown: This exhibition will explore the significance of the kimono on the rest of the world, specifically looking at the social, satirical and aesthetic impact of the kimono from the 1960s through to the present day. The iconic kimono is a traditional Japanese garment, both elegant and delicate in appearance, traditionally worn by both men and women it can be seen as reflective of a person social class and identity.
