The Arc: A Trilogy of New Jewish Plays to premiere at Soho Theatre
Experience the essence of Jewish life through birth, marriage, and death in three compelling plays by leading UK playwrights at Soho Theatre this August.
The Soho Theatre is gearing up for an exciting premiere next month as Emanate Productions presents The Arc: A Trilogy of New Jewish Plays. This triple bill, featuring three works by some of the UK's leading playwrights, delves into life's significant moments through a distinctly Jewish lens. The plays explore birth, marriage, and death, each offering a unique perspective on the Jewish experience in 2023.
The cast for this compelling production is nothing short of stellar, featuring acclaimed actors like Nigel Planer, known for his roles in The Young Ones and Wicked, and Adrian Schiller, recognised for his work in The Danish Girl and The Merchant of Venice. Alongside them, Caroline Gruber, Dorothea Myer-Bennett, Abigail Weinstock, and others will bring these poignant and humorous stories to life, celebrating the richness of Jewish culture and heritage.
The creative team behind Emanate Productions, including Co-Artistic Directors Sam Thorpe-Spinks and Dan Wolff, along with Associate Producer Tanya Truman, have made it their mission to nurture emerging and established Jewish artists, spotlighting urgent and passionate narratives. Director Kayla Feldman expresses her enthusiasm for the project, recognising the importance of injecting Jewish culture into the mainstream at a time when the rise of antisemitism requires a powerful response.
The Arc promises to be an unforgettable theatrical experience, offering audiences a chance to connect with Jewish stories that are both heartwarming and thought-provoking.
