Coronavirus: the positivity movement II

Finding joy in the time of corona – part two

We are now moving into our third week of lockdown in the UK and so we thought we would bring you a further dose of good news to keep spirits high.

So it appears that John Krasinski stole our idea… I jest. But in all seriousness, if you’re looking for a further dose of good news in addition to this article, then we urge you to check out John Krasinski’s new venture of SGN (Some Good News) on Youtube. There’s also an accompanying hashtag on social media #somegoodnews to highlight all the good in the world and we are in love with the whole idea.

Great TV is making a return

Peter Kay’s ‘Car Share’ is returning for a special audio-only episode that is going to be available on BBC iPlayer.

Talking about the new release, Peter said: "It's a horrific situation right now we're all going through and like so many people I feel compelled to try to do something positive in an attempt to cheer people up in some way.

"Sian Gibson, Paul Coleman and myself got together via t'internet and wrote a new short episode of Car Share. It all happened very quickly - in fact, it didn't exist a week ago.

"Obviously we weren't able to film anything because of the lockdown but I hope people will use their imagination and enjoy listening."

‘The Fleabag Support Fund’

This fund will provide grants of £2,500 to freelancers that are working in the theatre industry who are in urgent financial need and unable to work due to the impact of coronavirus.

The Fund is partnering up with charities that are responding to the pandemic, and DryWhite will be distributing the funds.

The mountaintops of the Himalayas are visible for the first time in 30 years

By now, almost everyone has realised the immensely positive effect that this pandemic is having on nature and wildlife (probably not Trump). Dolphins have returned to parts of Italy, air pollution is down dramatically and the seas are clearer than ever. But the latest revelation comes in India, where locals are now for the first time in 30+ years able to see the peaks of the stunning Himalayan mountains.
