The John Lennon Wall first appeared in Prague as a commemoration of John Lennon and a symbol of peace and freedom. The wall to many represents a strong resistance to Communism and is the only location in Prague where graffiti is legal.

Take the time to appreciate the quotes, the lyrics and the portraits located on the wall. The wall is full of bright and wonderful colours and the content is ever-changing.

 

Sing your heart out

The wall is like a live gig with the sound of buskers singing glorious Beatles tunes, which adds to the great atmosphere of the wall. The Buskers are more than delighted to hear you join in. Sing your heart out to the tune of Imagine.  

 

Leave your mark on the wall.

 The wall is free for all to leave their mark. Just don’t forget your marker!

 

Capture the moment.

The artwork featured on the wall more than likely not be there the next time you visit the wall. There are often friendly photographers at the wall who you can pay to take Polaroid’s pictures for you for the price of between 5 EUR- 10EUR.

Artiseme is the concept design store located at the end of the John Lennon Wall. Stocked with Wall merchandise, the store also features amazing ceramic, concrete and clay pieces from a host of independent designers.

The bohemian shop is located in the 15th century Grand Priory Palace, a truly amazing space with a gorgeous courtyard and amazing music. Artiseme also play host to yoga classes, outdoor cinema and host other great events!

#FLOFavourite: The restaurant Velkoprevorsky Mlyn is located a short distance from John Lennon’s Wall, the restaurant overlooks the devil stream and is quite a quaint location.
