London Literature Festival 2024 announces stellar line-up with rapper Ghetts as co-curator
Southbank Centre reveals exciting line-up for London Literature Festival 2024, co-curated by rapper Ghetts and featuring exclusive book launches and poetry events.

The Southbank Centre has unveiled its line-up for the London Literature Festival 2024, running from 23 October to 3 November. This year's festival promises an exciting blend of spoken word, literature, and music, with British rapper Ghetts as co-curator for the opening weekend. Ghetts, renowned for his lyricism and creative prowess, will bring a dynamic edge to the festival, highlighting the vibrant interplay between London's poetry and music scenes. His involvement highlights the festival’s commitment to exploring the rich connections between these artistic forms.
The festival will also feature exclusive events showcasing some of the most anticipated new works from both established and emerging authors. British playwright Hanif Kureishi will launch his memoir Shattered, offering a poignant look into his personal journey. In addition, Susanna Clarke will present her latest novel, The Wood at Midwinter, expanding the world of her beloved Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell. Kevin Barry will perform a special staged reading of The Heart in Winter, complemented by live music and theatrical elements, while new works from writers like Varaidzo and Tom Lamont will be highlighted in the festival's commitment to nurturing fresh literary talent.

In celebration of its 70th anniversary, the National Poetry Library will host events featuring Lemn Sissay and a free annual Poetry Day themed around 'spoken word.' Families and children can enjoy a range of free and ticketed events, including a celebration of David McKee’s Elmer and a children’s comedy show with Russell Kane.
