The Restaurant at Sanderson 

For Breakfast 

Breakfast in this Japanese-style garden, located in the courtyard of the restaurant at Sanderson, is utterly enchanting. It is hard to believe that the gorgeous waterfall, mosaics and greenery all lie just a short walk away from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street. Expect a carefully curated breakfast menu, including a full-English breakfast complete with black pudding and Cumberland sausages, to an elegant brioche French toast laden with berries and crème fraiche.

 

What to eat?

Sanderson Eggs 

Have your Sanderson eggs nestled on some delicious sourdough toast. Choose from scrambled or poached egg and have with tomatoes or mashed avocado.

Scrambled Eggs 

 Or why not stay classy with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon.

French Toast 

Enjoy French toast served with cinnamon, crème fraiche, berries and maple syrup. Wow.

La Goccia Petersham Nurseries 

For Lunch

The latest hang out spot from Petersham Nurseries, La Goccia, does not fall short from the expected exquisite interiors and beautiful blooms. This relaxing spot features a wood-fired oven and will serve you up Italian ‘cicchetti’ which is essentially small plates. La Goccia sources their meat, fruit and vegetables from Hayes farm and buys their fish directly from the docks. All the produce that you eat here is fresh and seasonal – sustainability is a key part of their brand.

Tucked away off the busy streets of Covent Garden, you can enjoy your food either al-fresco or inside the beautiful restaurant itself. The garden features gigantic terracotta pots, stylish wrought iron furniture and lots and lots of greenery. Also on offer at La Goccia are pasta making workshops, cocktail masterclasses and wine tasting sessions.

 

What to eat?

The restaurant serves both lunch and dinner. Some of their dishes include, lemon sole, salsa verde with tomatoes, sage and caciocavallo arancini antipasti, pan-fried mackerel with courgettes.

We are obsessed with arancini and so we love the sharing set menu. Enjoy the selection of tomatoes, salad, black olives and cheeses. Or from the wood-fired oven and garden, why not try the confit of duck with parsley. And for dessert delicious poached plums with buffalo yoghurt ice cream.

The Ivy, St Johns Wood 

For Dinner

The Ivy has been a key fix on the London food scene for some time, and although there are chains popping up across London this is the one to go to. The Ivy in St. Johns Wood imitates the style of the original trendsetting ‘ Ivy’ in Chelsea Gardens. The restaurant was designed by renowned Martin Brudnizki Design Studio. Wildlife inspired artwork, mirrors and gold pendant lights fill the chic space. You can choose to eat inside or out too! 

 

What to eat?

Their all day menu includes classic British dishes such as fish and chips, but also a great selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes including a very special sweet potato Keralan curry. Not to be forgotten, there are a plethora of deserts to choose from at The Ivy, including lots of great cheeses – Cornish yarn and a camembert from Normandy – all served with a pear chutney and rye crackers.

 

Fish and Chips

This traditional battered cod served with mushy peas, thick-cut chips and tartare sauce is one of our favourites in London.

Halloumi Open Sandwich

Crushed avocado, black olives, red pepper, San Marzanino tomatoes, watercress and with a yuzu sauce dribbled on top. All complete with crispy artichokes, a pear and truffle honey and finally the good stuff, grilled halloumi.

The Apple Tart Fine 

A delicious baked apple tart served with vanilla ice cream with calvados flambé.

Barber and Parlour - CLOSED

For Brunch

Barber and Parlour is a multifunctional ‘hangout’ space; set over three floors you will find a barbers, restaurant and a cinema in the basement. But it is the Barber and Parlour Kitchen where you can stuff your face with poached eggs and avocado in a delightful comfortable leather sofa. This is the ideal spot for a weekend brunch in trendy Shoreditch.

#FLODown: Barber and Parlour has a range of small light healthy brunch options. It is cosy and full of greenery – making it the perfect location for a spot of brunch, followed by an electric cinema session after.

Popina

On the Go

Popina first came to the scene serving up scrumptious cakes, pies and all things nice at Portobello Road Market. Created by Isidora Popovic with a little help from the Prince's Trust, she can now be found at most high-end stores such as Harrods and Fortnum & Mason.  Popina has a selection of foods perfect for your on the go lunch, including Moroccan, Mexican bean and Thai curry rolls – but they are probably best known for their chocolate truffle brownies. Popina has a café on Duke Street, but you can also find them at some of London’s best markets.

 

What to eat?

Royal Lox 

Satisfy your egg craving with the ‘Royal Lox’. These poached eggs, smoked salmon, hollandaise sauce and beetroot ferment on homemade pogacha bread will do nicely.

Or, why not try the brioche French toast with Nutella marshmallow melt.

#FLODown: We are obsessed with Popina's delicious savoury rolls, and their market stalls are the perfect locations for an on the go lunch. You can also treat yourself to a sweet treat.

Butter Believe It 

#Treatyoself

It’s hard to miss the bright yellow facade of Butter Believe It. Created by husband and wife dream team, Haya and Yazan, this pun-tastic bakery provides some indulgent desserts that will not disappoint your tastebuds.  This quaint café, in the heart of Spitalfields, has a small but cosy seating area surrounded by kitchen shelves creating a homely setting to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. Plus, Butter Believe It has a fleet of cakes and cookies ready for order and delivery, right to your doorstep courtesy of Deliveroo. Very handy for those late night cravings.

Sesame Sweet

 An explosive blend of sesame, tahini paste and chocolate.

Simply the Zest

This cookie contains lemon, poppy seeds, white chocolate with a subtle hint of coconut. Sounds underwhelming, but is overwhelmingly delicious.
