The Felix Project

The Felix Project is a phenomenal charity that collects fresh, nutritious food that cannot be sold and delivers it to charities, providing meals for the most vulnerable in our society. Great for the planet and the community!

How can I help?

You can get involved in a number of roles, from volunteering as a driver or co-driver to helping as a warehouse assistant to sort food stock. The Felix Project is practical and sustainable, and with shifts across London, from Shoreditch to Notting Hill, there’s plenty of opportunity to get involved. Minimum commitment is one shift a week. For more information on how you can help with their ethos ‘good food for good causes’, Click here to discover what you can volunteer for at present.

Food Cycle

In a similar vein, Food Cycle also works with surplus food to reduce waste. Bringing together a pool of enthusiastic volunteers the charity prepares nutritious three-course vegetarian meals for anyone in need in the local community.

How can I help?

You can sign up for as many or as little shifts as you’d like online, with slots ranging from 1 to 4 hours long. Click here to find shifts.

Passage

The Passage aims to alleviate homelessness and provide individuals with the resources needed to transform their own lives. The charity supports around 200 men and women in London. The Passage House was officially opened in March 2000, and is a 40-bed hostel that offers a safe place to sleep for the street homeless.

How can I help?

If this sounds like a cause close to your heart, you can get involved collecting donations of food or participating in a full kitchen take over alongside a dedicated team of chefs to prepare food for their lunch service. Other skilled roles include volunteer hairdressing or helping people settle in a new home after homelessness. Commitment varies depending on the roles from one day a week to a couple of hours a month, so find the best fit for you here.

Time is money… so give yours to a charity near you! X
