Ultimate movie night treats

Cinemas are now a thing of the past and we’re so grateful for Netflix and Sky. Since lockdown began we’ve had ourselves a few movie nights at home and to be honest, I think we may actually prefer it to going to the cinema. A movie night at home is budget-friendly, easy, a great way to spend time with your loved ones and if you’re anything like us it’s also an ideal excuse to carry on snacking – YAY

So, you’ve picked the movie, changed into your comfortable jammies, now it’s time to get the treats and have an epic movie night. Here’s a list of snacks we recommend for an ultimate movie night:

Popcorn - no movie night is complete without popcorn – it is an unwritten rule. Why not take it up a notch and drizzle some melted chocolate on your popcorn and let it set for 10-15minutes in the fridge before serving. Toffee and caramel sauce also compliment well.

Pizza okay we’re not talking domino’s delivery or making your own pizza from scratch but how about ordering pizza making kits – they’re quick and equally rewarding. Places we love that are offering home making kits are Papalino’s and Pizza Pilgrims.

Nachos nachos are popular movie night snacks – what’s not to love? We’re talking melted cheese, creamy guacamole and stingy salsa. We recommend loading it with diced chicken or beef mince and give it that extra bit of edge.

Sweets we can’t make a list of treats for a movie night and not include a pick n mix bag! Check out these companies offering pick n mix sweets for home delivery: heavenly sweets, vegan sweets factory and the sweetie shack. A quicker alternative would be a bag of Swizzles ‘Lots of Lollies’, Rowntree’s ‘pick & mix’ or Haribo from your local supermarket.

Doughnuts your favourite doughnut shops are now offering delivery options and what better time to indulge than on your movie night after months of missing them? Check out Doughnut Time and Crosstown Doughnuts

Drinks of course you’re going to need something to ingest all the goodies. Slushies are what we miss most about the cinema and luckily this Raspberry lemonade slushie recipe is perfect! Other drinks we suggest are milkshakes and simple cocktails such as Aperol spritz or a martini

There you have it – now sit back, turn your phones to silent and ENJOY!
