London Craft Week x V&A Academy 2025

Secret Ceramics at Christie’s London
#FLODown: Making its debut at Christie’s London, Secret Ceramics returns for its second edition during London Craft Week in partnership with the charitable initiative FiredUp4, co-founded by Kate Malone MBE. Featuring 100 anonymously displayed works by both renowned ceramicists and emerging talents—including Hitomi Hosono, Sophie Wilson, Bouke de Vries and Freya Bramble Carter—buyers only discover the artist’s identity after purchase. Proceeds support the ongoing work of FiredUp4, funding the annual running costs of ceramic studios across four London youth centres, providing creative opportunities and access to clay for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Exhibitions at No. 9 Cork Street

Karolina Merska: Celebrating Pajaki - Exhibition and Workshop
#FLODown: Celebrating a decade since creating her first pająk, artist Karolina Merska brings the traditional Polish chandelier to London Craft Week with a striking new exhibition and hands-on workshop. Originating in the 18th century, pajaki—crafted from rye straw and paper pompoms—were once vibrant symbols of joy and prosperity in Polish village homes. Karolina’s latest series, suspended among antique furniture at the Committee of Taste, blends traditional folk techniques with contemporary materials and forms. Alongside the display, Karolina invites visitors to join her two-evening workshop (14–15 May), where participants can create their own pająk while learning about the rich heritage of Polish craft.

William Morris Gallery: Stitch and Sip

Farm Shop Mayfair: Meet the Makers - Celebration of Craftsmanship at Farm Shop Mayfair

Sarabande Foundation: ‘Object Narratives’ Workshop with Helena Lacy

English National Opera: Flower Brooch Workshop

The Courtauld: The Tutu: Workshop
#FLODown: The Courtauld will host a tutu-making workshop to celebrate their temporary exhibition, The Griffin Catalyst Exhibition: Goya to Impressionism. Masterpieces from the Oskar Reinhart Collection. Led by Anna Maria of Tutu Maker Studio, the session will explore the history and construction of the tutu, with hands-on practice of traditional techniques. Inspired by the art historical research behind works by Edgar Degas and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, the workshop also includes access to the exhibition and the main Courtauld collection. International Pavilions
#FLODown: For the 11th edition of London Craft Week, a series of International Pavilions will be showcased across the city. The Royal Thai Embassy will present Chud Thai Through the Ages: Weaving History, Craft and Identity, featuring ceremonial textiles from HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya’s private collection. The Saudi Arabian Pavilion will highlight traditional Sadu weaving in Woven Whispers, while the China National Pavilion’s exhibition, Tiangong Kaiwu: Crafting Works of Nature, will showcase crafts involving needlework and jade. Malaysia’s pavilion will display Virtuosity of Craftwork: Masterpieces of National Heritage Crafts, and South Korea will feature a pavilion with works by Soluna Art Group, including pieces from LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize winner Dahye Jeong and finalist Woosun Cheon.
Additionally, The Lavery will host exhibitions featuring crafted works from South Korea, Myanmar, China, and Japan. Highlights include yAwArAkAi kArA – The Reflecting Skin by ceramicists Akiko Hirai and Kenta Anzai, Turquoise Mountain’s display of Myanmar lacquerware, silk weaving, and goldsmithing, and a showcase of UNESCO-recognised crafts from the Korea Heritage Agency.

Charlotte Colbert: Chasing Rainbows
#FLODown: Chasing Rainbows by Charlotte Colbert presents two large-scale public artworks on display at Battersea Power Station from 23 April to 1 June 2025. Installed in the historic turbine halls, Dreamland Sirens and Where Angels Live are part of London Craft Week and the site’s Spring/Summer campaign, Radiant Reflections. From 9–18 May, a pop-up shop in Turbine Hall A will feature Colbert-designed fashion and homeware, with opportunities for customisation on select dates.
