Pattern Book is an exquisite collection of paintings by Kate Montgomery, influenced by her passion for textiles and her studies in Islamic patterns. The paintings serve as an ode to stories from the past, present, and future. Montgomery's work invites viewers to look behind the curtain, delving into private moments and the quiet of domestic life, inspired by her own memories and imagination.

Through her unique artistic vision, Montgomery skillfully intertwines geometric principles and Victorian designs, creating unique compositions on small canvases painted with intense precision in casein on board. Kate Montgomery, a Brighton-based artist, studied at The Ruskin School of Drawing & Fine Art, Oxford, and The Royal College of Art. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Montgomery has lectured at Central St Martins and served as an artist in residence at Glyndebourne Opera House. Her work has been exhibited in prestigious venues such as the RA Summer Show and The Discerning Eye, while also finding a place in various notable collections. Pattern Book will open at Long & Ryle on 29 June 2023.
