Bloc returns for a 20th anniversary reunion at The Cause

Bloc is back for one night in March 2027, marking twenty years since the first Bloc Weekender and ten since the last. The reunion will take over The Cause in Docklands on Saturday 6 March. The first wave of artists has just been announced and includes Jeff Mills, Egyptian Lover, Leftfield in a DJ set and Tama Sumo & Lakuti, with more names still to come.

Founded in 2007 by George Hull and Alex Benson, Bloc began at Pontins Hemsby in Norfolk and grew into one of the UK's most followed underground operations, built on uncompromising programming and a DIY, community first approach. It moved to Butlin's Minehead and continued for the best part of a decade. After the widely reported closure of its 2012 London Pleasure Gardens event, the pair rebuilt and opened their own East London venue, Autumn Street in Hackney Wick, which stayed open for eight years.

The lineup gathers artists from across those two decades. Jeff Mills has played more headline sets for Bloc than anyone else, and Egyptian Lover returns for a rare live performance with his 808. Surgeon and Regis reunite as British Murder Boys for a live set, while Leftfield make their first Bloc appearance with Neil Barnes behind the decks. Steve Davis, who made his festival DJ debut at Bloc in 2016, comes back alongside Kavus Torabi. DJ Storm goes back to back with Tasha of Neighbourhood, and Dutch acid producer Miss Djax plays an all vinyl set. Crews and showcases come from I Love Acid, Plex, Chapter 10 and Telepathic Fish, who host a dedicated chill out room.

Founders Alex Benson and George Hull said "no one planned for this", adding that more than 1,000 people signed up on the afternoon tickets went on sale. The Cause, which started in 2018 as a single room venue inside a former mechanics workshop in Tottenham, has since grown into a multi space cultural destination in Docklands.
