The best places to see fireworks in London for Bonfire Night 2026

Every year on 5 November the country marks the failure of the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, when Guy Fawkes was found in the cellars beneath the House of Lords with barrels of gunpowder, ready to blow up Parliament and King James I along with it. He was caught, and Londoners lit bonfires in celebration that same night. Four centuries later the bonfires have turned into large ticketed events with funfairs, street food and DJ sets, and the fireworks are choreographed to music.

This year the fifth is on a Thursday, and most of the capital's bigger displays will be on the weekend that follows, with only a handful on the night itself. Below are five of the best across the city, from the drone and pyrotechnics festival in the north to a free display in the middle of Bloomsbury.

Alexandra Palace Fireworks & Drone Festival

Alexandra Palace Fireworks & Drone Festival returns 7 - 8 November 2026.

#FLODown: Generally regarded as the biggest and best known Bonfire Night in London. The festival has grown into a full weekend for the first time, with Saturday given over to the larger night and Sunday starting earlier for families. Eats Everything headlines the outdoor stage on Saturday, with a German Bier Festival and a Queen tribute band inside, and Sunday has a jungle kids' rave and karaoke with Shaun Williamson. A bonfire, marshmallow toasting, ice skating and funfair rides are on across both days, and the Palace rooftop at Summit has been opened up this year as somewhere to watch from.

Date: Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November 2026, gates at 4pm, with the display at 8pm on Saturday and 6pm on Sunday. Location: Alexandra Palace Park, Alexandra Palace Way, London N22 7AY. Price: from £18, with under-10s £5. fireworks.london
