Fresh off the heels of Frieze Week in London, Paris launches into its own spectacular celebration of art each October, transforming the city into a hub for collectors, curators, and cultural enthusiasts. This year’s Paris Art Week once again demonstrates why the French capital remains a beacon of creativity and exchange, with a constellation of world-class fairs ranging from the monumental to the experimental. From the grandeur of Art Basel Paris at the Grand Palais to the unique energy of Paris Internationale and OFFSCREEN, each fair contributes something unique to the city’s vibrant art scene. Art Basel Paris

#FLODown: Art Basel Paris has become the cornerstone of the city’s art calendar each October. Now in its fourth year, the 2025 edition gathers over two hundred leading galleries from around the world inside the Grand Palais. This year’s programme extends across several sites in the city, with sculptures, performances, and installations presented between the Grand and Petit Palais. Among the highlights are Julius von Bismarck’s kinetic sculptures The Elephant in the Roomand Ugo Rondinone’s poetic outdoor piece the innocent. The fair’s “Oh La La!” initiative also invites participating galleries to stage special presentations curated by French journalist and filmmaker Loïc Prigent.

Paris Internationale

#FLODown: Created by a collective of gallerists, Paris Internationale is a bold and independent alternative to conventional art fairs. Its 2025 11th edition continues to foster new ideas and emerging talent through an innovative format that challenges the standard booth layout, allowing architecture and artwork to interact organically. The fair’s ethos of accessibility and experimentation makes it a vital platform for younger galleries and artists taking creative risks. Alongside its core exhibitions, the fair hosts a dynamic public programme of talks, performances, book launches, and guided “dérives” through the city’s cultural landscape.

OFFSCREEN Paris

#FLODown: OFFSCREEN offers one of the most distinctive experiences of Paris Art Week, combining contemporary art with architectural heritage inside the breathtaking 17th-century La Chapelle Saint-Louis de la Salpêtrière. Now in its fourth edition, the fair focuses on installations and moving-image practices, bringing together artists whose work bridges time-based media and sculptural form. The 2025 programme, titled Acquisitions & Discoveries, partners with institutions such as the Centre Pompidou and ZKM Karlsruhe to showcase historical and newly rediscovered video works. This year’s guest of honour, Shigeko Kubota, will be celebrated through a dedicated exhibition exploring her pioneering contributions to video art and her influence on generations of artists working with technology and image.

AKAA – Also Known As Africa

#FLODown: Celebrating its tenth anniversary, AKAA returns to the Carreau du Temple as the leading fair dedicated to contemporary African and diasporic art in France. The 2025 edition is curated by new artistic director Sitor Senghor and centres around the concept of materiality, exploring how artists from across Africa and its diaspora use texture, form, and substance to articulate identity, history, and imagination. Around forty galleries will participate, representing countries from across Africa, Europe, and the Americas. This year’s central installation by Cameroonian artist Serge Mouangue reflects on collective memory and spirituality through sculptural forms.

Asia Now

#FLODown: At the Monnaie de Paris, Asia Now returns for its eleventh edition, transforming the historic site into a vivid showcase of contemporary art from across Asia. The fair brings together galleries from Seoul, Tokyo, Bangkok, and beyond, presenting cutting-edge work in dialogue with global narratives. With a growing emphasis on cross-cultural collaboration and the blurring of geographical boundaries, Asia Now continues to challenge perceptions of what “Asian art” encompasses, establishing Paris as a major node for dialogue between East and West.
