20 Vegan restaurants you need to try in London this Veganuary 2024

In celebration of Veganuary throughout January, we've curated a selection of London's most mouthwatering vegan restaurants. For those new to the concept, Veganuary, an annual initiative led by a UK nonprofit organisation, actively advocates for and educates about veganism. It encourages individuals to embrace a plant-based lifestyle for the entire month of January. Since its inception in 2014, participation in this inspiring event has consistently soared year after year.

Tendril

#FLODown: Located in Soho, this plant-first restaurant by Chef Rishim Sachdeva emphasises "root-to-shoot" dining and minimises waste. It opened its permanent space in July 2023, making quite the splash with its (mostly) vegan comforting food.

#FLODown: If you haven’t tried Ethiopian food, now is your chance at London's first vegan Ethiopian restaurant. Known for its laid-back atmosphere and incredible value, this charming restaurant in Dalston serves a simple menu offering a spread of stews and curries served with rice or injera. And if you haven’t had injera before, we can't recommend it enough; it is delightful!

#FLODown: Founded by Michelin-starred chef Alexis Gauthier, Gauthier offers vegan fine dining in Soho. They present a seasonal five- or eight-course set menu featuring modern French cuisine. Beyond their Soho location, they have expanded with spin-offs like 123V, offering vegan sushi and burgers at Fenwick, and Studio Gauthier, providing lunchtime options located at the BFI Building.

Their menu boasts an assortment of delightful baked goods such as bircher bowls, pancakes, sandwiches, and toasties. They have locations in Hackney and Stoke Newington.

#FLODown: We’ve been eager to take a peak at the 328 ft Hilton Hotel on Park Lane since it underwent a transformative refurbishment in 2023 and this Veganuary might be the right moment. The hotel’s Park Corner Brasserie which opened during the 2023 refurb is offering a different Vegan menu each week of January (£22 for two courses, £26 for three), whilst the iconic panoramic restaurant Galvin at Windows on the 28th floor is launching an exclusive, luxury vegan menu from 10 January, crafted by Hear Chef Marc Hardiman (£100).
