In 2025, the HENI Project Space welcomed more than 160,000 unticketed visitors, reinforcing its role as a key destination for accessible contemporary art in London. Since opening in 2007, the space has presented over 150 artists from across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas, including internationally recognised figures such as Pipilotti Rist and Dineo Seshee Bopape. It remains an important platform for emerging artists to reach new audiences and develop their practice on an international stage.

Senior Curator Yung Ma describes the 2026 programme as a reflection of urgent global concerns, ranging from ecological crisis and technological transformation to ritual, mythology and alternative ways of understanding the world. The exhibitions collectively examine how contemporary life is shaped by both inherited traditions and rapidly evolving systems, offering diverse perspectives on the present moment.

All exhibitions will open at the HENI Project Space at the Hayward Gallery, Southbank Centre, with free admission. The space continues to serve as an open and accessible platform for contemporary art.
