Skate at Somerset House returns for Winter 2026
Tickets are now on sale for Skate at Somerset House with Virgin Atlantic Holidays, which returns to the Strand courtyard from 11 November 2026 until 10 January 2027. The rink has been a fixture of London's festive calendar for years, familiar from screen appearances in everything from Love, Actually to Strictly Come Dancing, and this year's edition leans harder into the music and late-night programming that has come to define it.

The headline addition is a K-Pop Party on 23 November, presented with the Korean Cultural Centre UK, with DJ EMKAY handling a set that features the genre's biggest names and its newer arrivals. Running alongside it, Skate Lates with Aperol Spritz takes over Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings until 11pm, with rink-side sets from Daytimers, Netil Radio, Gauchoworld, UKF, bass collective BUMPAH and queer Latinx party 2CPERREA. There's also a night built around Somerset House's winter exhibition Through Our Eyes: Sámi Art and Culture, with co-curator Matti Aikio DJing contemporary music by Sámi artists.

Beyond the parties, the programme is broader than it has been. Extended sessions appear for the first time this November, offering double the ice time for the price of a standard session. Weekend mornings bring Skate School for adults and teens plus a Kids' Club for ages 6–12, both coached by the team behind Team GB's rising skaters, while reduced-capacity relaxed sessions and dedicated wheelchair skating sessions keep the rink open to everyone. The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse returns rink-side with free entry, front-row views and seasonal drinks.

Food and shopping fill out the rest of the courtyard. The Chalet by Jimmy Garcia is back with raclette scraped from the wheel and alpine cooking, alongside a run of festive workshops including gingerbread house decorating, and outdoor stalls serving hot chocolate, waffles and German hot dogs. The Shelter Boutique pop-up, supported by HSBC UK, gathers donated stock from brands including AllSaints and Nobody's Child, with proceeds going towards Shelter's housing advice work.
